Wellness Ministry – Opportunities to train in counselling

In the midst of a changing and often uncertain and struggling world, we have GOOD NEWS! Our God brings transformation and restoration to hearts and lives and relationships.

Isaiah 61:1 says “The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.” In the Wellness Centre our counsellors and receptionists serve faithfully week in and week out to love people and join with the Holy Spirit’s work of bringing restoration to individual lives and families. People from both inside and outside of the church have benefitted from the service and have made sense of their troubling pasts and found new meaning in life. We have heard some amazing stories of people being healed from anxiety and depression, self-harm and suicidal ideation and of relationships being restored.

We want to see the ministry of the Wellness Centre continue for future generations. For this to happen we need to ensure more counsellors are continually being trained up to serve with us. And so we would like to invite you to prayerfully consider if this is something God may be calling you to.

If you are interested, there is a 4-day introduction to counselling course taking place in Edinburgh on 10-11 March and 14-15 April this year, delivered by Andrea Wigglesworth and Vicky McEvoy. This course is a pre-requisite if you want to do the Diploma in Counselling which starts in September and it will also give you a good idea if training to be a counsellor is for you, as well as being useful in your own day to day relationships and for self-development.
