It is with great excitement that we are now under a week away our S4-6 Youth Weekend away! Like last year we are staying at the warm setting of the Bible Centre in Inchinnan where we will have our own meetings on the Friday Night, Saturday morning and evening and Sunday morning, as well as plenty of time to hang out and enjoy spending time together. Our speakers at the weekend are Tod Chapin, Ollie Clegg, Tara Devlin and Jonny Slatter who’ll be helping us think though the call of Jesus for us to become his disciples and follow him to be fishers of men. We’ll also be led in worship by 8 of our young people at various points throughout the weekend.
We have many activities planned to tie in with the theme of the talk and lots of other fun and games throughout the weekend to be had!
In total we have 40 young people attending our weekend supported by a strong team of 19 volunteers from the youth team. We also have a wonderful team of 4 catering volunteers making sure we’re well fed and watered throughout.
We’d love it if you could support us in prayer both in the lead up to the weekend and throughout our time away. Below are some areas we’d love you to pray for.
· For our 40 young people attending, that God would be preparing their hearts and minds ready to receive from Him at the weekend and they would all be healthy and energised as they come into the weekend
· That our young people meet Jesus, either for the first time or in a fresh way over the course of the weekend, going deeper in their relationship with him
· That all our young people feel a real unity being away together and that life-long friendships would blossom for every young person there.
· That there is joy and excitement abounding throughout every activity, meeting and free time planned
· For energy, excitement and expectation for our fantastic team of leaders who are serving over the weekend
· For Mark and Emma Galloway and the catering team as they keep us all fed and energised throughout the weekend and that everything will run smoothly and safely in the kitchen
· For Tod, Ollie, Tara and Jonny as they finalise their talks and for those involved in worship, that God will inspire them with the right words/songs throughout the weekend
· Finally, for all the little logistical things that come together to make the weekend away go without a hitch!
