Living in a World of Grace

In a world of constant hurry and noise, we need space and time to cultivate our relationship with God. Stillness is an essential pre-requisite to knowing God, and yet many of us are never still!.

Here is an opportunity to take time out from busy schedules to be refreshed and renewed by waiting upon God .

The day will include devotional talks, exposition of scripture, and quiet worship, as well as time for reflection, prayer and stillness.

The course will be lead by Tony Horsfall from Equip Ministries which is based at Bawtry Hall near Doncaster

Be still and know that I am God….. Psalm 46,10

Jesus said to them, ‘Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest’. So they went away by themselves to a solitary place…..

Mark 6, 31-32.

Very early in the morning while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed…..

Mark 1,35

Tea and coffee will be provided, but please bring your own lunch

Silence is an indispensable discipline in the spiritual life… (it) is the discipline by which the inner fire of God is tended and kept alive

( Henri Nouwen)

Whenever the heart is silent, the voice of God sounds

(Herbert Slade)

The first thing necessary in order to hear God is to be silent

(Theodore Bovet)
