Mums to Mums Groups

We’ve been running  a couple of Mum to Mum groups through St Mungo’s this year, one in Livingston and one started more recently in Balerno. The groups are for first time and new Mums and aim to be a place of nurture for Christian mums. The groups follow a strongly Biblically based curriculum (on DVD)  which is written from a Christian perspective, integrating scripture with sound psychological principles and practical parenting strategies, so they provide an overview of what matters most in the lives of busy Mums. Mums have found the groups really good, they’ve made new friends, understood more about God’s call on their lives as mums, strengthened their relationships with their husbands, and picked up good parenting ideas, too numerous to mention.

The most challenging part of setting up and running these groups has been finding people who will look after the babies and toddlers. We have found ‘more mature Mums’ who lead and encourage Mums on the course, and we have filled the places for Mums well.
